Analgesic and antiseptic solution for the topical treatment of pulpitis
Composition
Chlorobutanol hemihydrate 30%, Eugenol 57.5%, Oil of Cinnammon 10%, Methyl Salicylate 2.5%
Properties
Chlorbutanol is a preparation which combines the analgesic and sedative action of chlorobutanol with the antiseptic effect of the other components, amongst which Methyl Salicylate is known for its anti-inflammatory activity.
Indications
> Pulpal sedative (in cases of pulpitis) after dentinal treatment of superficial or
deep 2nd degree caries
> Relief of pain after root extraction
Directions for use
As a sedative: dip a cotton pellet into "PD" Chlorbutanol and apply directly to the wound.
As a dressing: dress the wound with a strip of gauze dipped in "PD" Chlorbutanol
applied directly to the alveole, avoid exerting any pressure.
Remove the dressing once the pain has significantly decreased or totally disappeared.
Storage
> Store at room temperature between 5° and 30° C, protected from direct light
> The solution may cristalize if the bottle is stored in a cool place. The cristals will dissolve once room temperature is restored.
