Properties and Indications
«PD» Copal Varnish is the ideal cavity liner and dentinal tubuli sealer. It ensures perfect protection to
exposed dentinal surfaces due to be sealed with either permanent fillings or restorations.It is also useful
as an intermediary varnish pnor to the insertion of amalgams, Silicate or Oxyphosphate cements as it
offers a safeguard against irritant acids. «PD» Copal Varnish hardens instantly forming a thin coating.
The use of successive thin layers is more effective than using just one layer of thicker varnish
Directions for use
> Isolate the tooth with a rubber dam or cotton rolls
> Dry the cavity thoroughly with alcohol and an air-dryer
> Use a cotton pellet dipped in the varnish to rapidly coat the exposed dentine
> Dry the coat of varnish with an air-dryer
> Repeat the operation until the surface shows a slight glaze after evaporation of the solvent.
To prevent contamination of the bottle, use a new cotton pellet for each application.
The number of coats of varnish is determined by the porosity of the dentine and the slight
glaze indicates suitable saturation
> After the last coat of varnish, dry thoroughly
> Proceed with the tilling or the restoration
Precaution
The rates of evaporation of the drfersn sl^-snts ivhch :cnpose the solvent are not identical,
In order to avoid any undue alteration of «PD» Copal Varnish, leftover solvent should not
he used to top up the bottle. The integrity of the film is destroyed in contact of composite
restorative materials

Storage
Store at room temperature between 15SC and 25=C, protected from direct light and, aboveall,
from heat or flame.
