Gel for the local anaesthesia of the mucous tissues
Composition
Benzocaine 20%, Benzalkonium Chloride 0.1%, food flavoring, excipient ad 100%
Properties
Thanks to its composition, Topical paste possesses two distinct activities:
> Local anaesthesia due to the Benzocaine, active ingredient pertaining to the group of aminoesters
>antisepsis due to Benzalkonium Chloride, pertaining to the family of quaternary ammonium with bactericidal activity
Topical paste acts within a minute after application. Its action lasts about 15 minutes, depending on the applied quantity.
Topical paste is available in six different flavors: strawberry, banana, mint, cherry, bubble-gum, pineapple, and can be used for children over the age of 5 as well as for adults, according to their preference.
Indications
> Local anaesthesia of the gums before injection
> Superficial analgesia of the gums before extraction of deciduous teeth
> Local anaesthesia of the oral mucous tissues before deep scaling or other treatment (lancing of abscess…)
Direction for use
> Dry the place prior to application.
> Apply a small quantity of gel using a cotton pellet or an appropriate instrument>
Ask the patient to rinse the mouth to eliminate a possible excess from the product.
> Wait one minute prior to the treatment.
Warring:
Risk of hypersensitivity to Benzocaine or of sensitization to one of the constituents (the patient should be inquired of a possible sensitivity to one of the components).
The product should be used with precaution on injured or irritated oral tissues, as well as on children. Don't use for children under the age of 5.
Avoid any overdose. Daily maximum applicable amount locally: 300 mg of Benzocaine, corresponding to 1.5g of Topical Paste.
Storage
Store at room temperature between 5 C and 30 C, protected from direct light.
